Infographic Creation and App/Software Reflective Review General Instructions: An Infographic is a graphic, visual representation of information, data, and/or knowledge intended to present information quickly, clearly, and accurately. There are three basic types of infographics:
• Basic: 1) Title/Headline, 2) Information/content, conclusions, sources/citation(s) • Statistical: Data (i.e., numbers, charts, graphs, tables) • Informational: Informational chunked text (e.g. steps in a process; sequence of events/timeline of
events or ideas). For this assignment, you will use the elements of Basic for the structure and Informational for the content. Step 1:
• Select an appropriate app or software, Canva, Chartle, Picktochart, or another infographic creator to use to design one infographic. Microsoft Word cannot be used!
• Sign up for a technology tool or app using the Sign Up Genius link provided below this document in Blackboard. Select a technology tool or app you are not familiar with using and create an infographic about the tool in which you signed up for. No one is allowed to complete this assignment on any of the following apps/tools: Kahoot, Google Suite, Schoology, or Canva. Please note that your infographic cannot pertain to the tool in which you are using to create your infographic. This means your infographic should review two separate tools: 1) the app in which you signed up and 2) the app you used to create your infographic.
• Create a basic, informative, visually appealing (creative) infographic. Be sure to save your work in a format in which your instructor can access (e.g., PDF or JPG).
Step 2:
• Using a paragraph form, write a brief reflective review (3-5 sentences per paragraph) pertaining to the following:
o Paragraph 1: A review of the technology tool/app you signed up to review. Including: Name of the App/Software used along with where to access it. Is it free? What
platforms does it work on? (phone tablet, laptop, web)? What are 2 strengths of the app/software? What is 1 challenge of the app/software?
• Note: you may reverse this to have 2 challenges and 1 strength, if needed, for a total of three.
• How user-friendly was it for you? How user-friendly would it be for your learners? Explain your choice.
o Paragraph 2: From your perspective as an educator, what is the efficacy of infographics as learning tools for your learners?
o Paragraph 3: A review of the tool you used to create your infographic. Including: Name of the App/Software used along with where to access it. Is it free? What
