Homeboy Industries
In Tattoos on the Heart, Jesuit Greg Boyle, affectionately known as G, realizes his life’s passion and purpose by providing work, friendship, and refuge to gang members in Los Angeles, California through his parish community and the creation of Homeboy Industries or HI. G’s work and the stories he shares about his experiences with gang members and their families, reveal the true nature of God, what God requests of all human beings, and ultimately, what God’s desire is for humanity.
Farther G’s book,Tattoos on the Heart chronicles his life’s mission and accomplishments in seeking justice for all. Fr. G also has a second book published entitled, Barking at the Choir.
The Equal Justice Initiative or EJI
In Just Mercy, Bryan Stevenson discusses the work of a private, non-profit human rights organization located in Montgomery, Alabama committed “to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society” (“Equal Justice Initiative”).
Mr. Stevenson’s book, Just Mercy chronicles his life’s mission and accomplishments in seeking justice for all.
