• Final Capstone Paper – Collective Bargaining Simulation: The Zinnia Hotel and Service Workers Local H-56. This simulation was created by the textbook author, John W. Budd, to apply the labor relations and collective bargaining concepts learned throughout the seven-week course. The collective bargaining agreement is between The Zinnia Hotel, a 300-room hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Local H-56 of the International Union of Service Workers and Allied Employees. The agreement expires soon.
• Students will work individually on their papers by reading all the prepared documentation (below list). Students with the last name beginning with the letter “A” through “J” will represent The Zinnia Hotel. Students with the last name beginning with the letter “K” through “Z” will represent Local Union H-56. I WILL BE REPRESENTING THE LOCAL UNION H-56. Students will create a PowerPoint presentation to be presented to hotel or union management, depending on their position assignment.
