The Assignment
In this Assignment, you will use the SPSS Analysis Data Set to complete the following:
Download the Crosstabulation Worksheet and follow the indicated steps to produce crosstabulations on the data set.
Perform crosstabulations for the combination of categorical variables indicated.
Create a pie chart for the indicated variable.
Export the output from SPSS to Microsoft Word and save it to your computer.
Copy and paste the crosstabulation tables to your worksheet.
Based on your output, answer the questions on the worksheet, typing your answers directly into the document. Crosstabulation, also called crosstab and contingency table analysis, is one of the most useful analytic tools for understanding the relationship between categorical variables. A crosstabulation is a two- (or more) dimensional table that records the number (frequency) of respondents that have the specific characteristics described in the cells of the table. For example, if you ran a crosstabulation on gender and disease status, with gender having two categories (male and female) and disease status having two categories (yes and no), you would be able to see the percentage of men and women who have the disease and the percentage of men and women who do not have the disease. This is the most basic form of statistics in epidemiology; however, it is incredibly important in the field of public health.
