Three of the six attitudes of teachers conducive to forming partnerships with families include mutual respect, openness to communication, and cultural sensitivity. Of these, I believe cultural sensitivity is the most important because understanding and valuing diverse family backgrounds fosters a more inclusive environment, allowing teachers to connect with families on a deeper level. This connection helps students feel respected and understood, positively impacting their learning. The six Epstein methods of working with families are parenting, communicating, volunteering, learning at home, decision-making, and collaborating with the community. I find collaborating with the community to be the most unique, as it extends beyond the school and brings in resources and experiences from the wider community.
